Supply Systems/Call Center Analyst

Alpha Ten is looking to fill at 2 positions (preferably with Veteran or Wounded Warriors).  Must be able to work on site prefer to have Navy Supply background.  Must have excellent customer service skills and be good with communicating over the phone and email.  Must have good computer skills.

Job Description:

Alpha Ten Technologies, Inc. has an immediate need to hire a Supply Systems/Call Center Analyst to work to support the Navy, COMFISC at the Global Distance Support Center at 32nd Street Naval Base San Diego, CA.

The Global Distance Support Center (GDSC) is located in the Supply Chain Management Department, Fleet and Industrial Supply Center, San Diego, CA.  The GDSC is the single point of contact for worldwide customers.  GDSC representatives are customer advocates and recognized specialists in supply logistics operations.  They are call demand analysts responsible for performing a wide variety of complex tasks using multiple data base systems to provide information, perform trend analysis, solve problems, process material requirements and provide problem solutions for worldwide fleet and shore activities. A detailed knowledge of integrated logistics support, service peculiar maintenance philosophies, requisitioning behaviors and material management techniques are required.  Functions assigned to this position encompass both manual and mechanized operations involving various professional fields and technical operations.

Specific Tasks:

  • Provided Supply System Support and Logistics Services
  • Use customer tracking system (Remedy DRM) software developing and maintaining a comprehensive history of customer requests, requirements and supply deficiencies and establishes customer profiles
  • Strong knowledge of fleet industrial and maintenance operations
  • Provide status and stock availability to Navy activities and other DOD worldwide customers using the One Touch Support (OTS), RRAM, VLIPS and any other supply logistics systems.
  • Process MILSTRIP/requisitions received from Navy activities and other DOD customers via phone, email, web or messages using the Navy Supply System and the Defense Supply Systems using OTS, RRAM, VLIPS or any other systems accessible by the GDSC.
  • Initiates appropriate action to expeditiously obtain material or service requirements by processing MILSTRIP, requisitions, via batch processing using One Touch Support (OTS).
  • Contacts other internal and external activities such as, but not limited to DLA, NAVICP, GSA, NAVSUP, ship or shore activity sources for information on supply, logistics and processes, work methods or operating procedures and replies to customer with those results.
  • Uses a variety of communications equipment to explain and resolve Navy, DLA, GSA, NAVSUP, NAVICP and other services systems processes and procedures through oral discussions, written procedures on technical specifications, and guidance on regulations.

B.  Skills and Knowledge Required for the Position:

  • Knowledge of Naval Supply System’s products and services.
  • Knowledge and experience in Navy Systems such as UADPS/UICP, NAVSUP One Touch Support (OTS), RRAM, VLIPS, Defense Systems – DSS, EDA, BSM and other processing systems essential to coordinate work operations to satisfy customer’s requirements.
  • Knowledge of personal computer operations and the ability to execute daily work using Microsoft programs, to include databases (Access), spreadsheet (Excel) and word applications are required.
  • Expertise in DOD MILSTRIP/MILSTRAP business rules, policies and procedures.
  • Knowledge of interrelated supply process to coordinate the requirements for the customers.
  • Effective communications, both oral and written, report writing and customer service techniques to present information clearly to customers and co-workers.
