Alpha Ten Technologies is looking for an experienced Programmer from approx Nov 10, 2010 through March 31, 2011 in support of The California Public Employees’ Retirement System (CalPERS) Technology Services & Support Division (TSSD).
The California Public Employees’ Retirement System (CalPERS) Technology Services & Support Division (TSSD) has requested for a Senior Programmer for the CalPERS Corporate Database (CDB) Health Medical Application. The application consists of all major processes and functions necessary to support, health enrollments, dependents, health plan, health benefits, deduction history, annual health statement, carrier medical contracts, medical recipients, etc.
The scope of this project encompasses the following tasks:
- Provide technical expertise and support for the existing Health Medical Object Models as it relates to CDB System applications
- Perform SQL and PL/SQL changes and tuning
- Assist team members in resolving production defects as well as resolving the most complex production problems
- Perform impact analysis for new change controls/service requests and working on the more complex requests
- Mentor other team members on more complex requests
- Assist Health Benefits and other program areas in answering and resolving their questions/issues about how the system works, business rules explanations/interpretations, and creating reports
- Provide input and assist other technical staff (i.e., ACES Web, Data Administration, etc.) and projects to resolve problems with systems that have dependencies on the CDB Data Structure and Applications
- Research and perform analysis as required
- Provide expertise and mentoring to CalPERS’ staff and other projects
- Review development and maintenance of application documentation
- Communicate with technical, program area staff, and management
- Support testing and deployment activities (System, Pre-Acceptance Test (PAT), Customer Acceptance Test (CAT)), dry run, and implementation
- Provide production support as needed
Minimum Qualifications:
- Knowledge/experience with Governmental Health Benefits business processes similar to those described above (6 yrs)
- Application Support experience in a comparably complex environment to CDB as described above (6 yrs)
- Experience with Java application architecture, both online and batch (3 years)
- Java experience in development and maintenance of an application comparable to Health Medical as described above (3 years)
- Java (J2EE), JDBC, Spring, Jgoodies and OC4J (3 years)
- Object Modeling (6 years)
- Data Modeling (6 years)
- Oracle (PL/SQL, Oracle tables and Objects) (6 years)
- SQL Tuning (6 years)
- RSA Suite (2 years)
- UML Modeling (6 Years)
- ClearCase (2 Years)
- Unix OS and Shell Scripts (5 years)
- Toad, Maestro (2 years)
- Knowledge/experience with Governmental Retirement Benefits Programs functions and processes similar to CalPERS (6 yrs)
Knowledge/experience with Governmental Health Benefits business processes is MANDATORY
